Research on catalytic performance of transition-metal-based MOFs towards thermal decomposition of RDX

Abstract It is beneficial for the efficient energy utilization of propellants to develop high - efficiency catalysts thermal decomposition energetic materials. Herein, catalytic characteristics different transition-metal-based MOFs on cyclotrimethylenetriamine (RDX) were studied, such as [Zn 2 (atz) 3 (N )] n , MIL-88B and ZIF-67. ZIF-67 was found exhibit superior properties therein. On this basis, size effect when catalyzing RDX further investigated. has been that performance can be boosted reduced. However, will decline ulteriorly reduced into nanoscale. Besides, doping Ni, Cu or Zn little promotion performance. Among all catalysts, ZIF-67-S shows best RDX, which most existing catalysts. Specifically, it reduce peak temperature by 22.4 °C enhance apparent heat 59.9%. As a consequence, expected used combustion catalyst in 3D printing gun with contents.

Effect of pore sizes on catalytic activities of arenetricarbonyl metal complexes constructed within Zr-based MOFs.
Arenetricarbonyl metal complexes ([-phM(CO)3-] and [-biphM(CO)3-]; ph = phenylene, biph = biphenylene, M = Mo, Cr) constructed within Zr-based MOFs act as highly active and selective catalysts for epoxidation of cyclooctene.
